Partnerships
As a research organization the Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum aims to participate in partnerships in Europe and worldwide in order to promote abroad the Cypriot gastronomic culture.
Culinary Bridges Across Europe (2013-2015)
From 2013 to 2015 the Museum participated in the European program "Culinary Bridges Across Europe" with other partners from Greece, Poland, Italy and Germany from the vocational education and hospitality sector. The meetings of the partners were organized in a different country each time and the local organizations were responsible in organizing a series of meeting sections and cultural excursions. The meeting in Cyprus took place in March 2014 and the Museum organized successfully cultural events in Nicosia and the village Pera Orinis with guiding tours, food preparation demonstrations, traditional dances, lectures, a visit to a winery and others. The members of the Museum and the general public could also participate in these activities. More information on the program is available at http://www.culinary-eu.org/
Europeana Food and Drink (2014-2016)
The Museum participates since 2014 in the European Program "Europeana Food and Drink", funded by the European Committee. The vision of the program is to promote the wider re-use of digital cultural resources by the Creative Industries to boost creativity and business development across Europe through the theme of food and drink. To do this, 28 organisations from the Cultural Heritage sector, Creative Industries and Technical partners were brought together to work together on this shared vision. Nine innovative creative and commercial applications have been created by the program and one of them was coordinated and created by the Food Museum. Advancing Culinary Workshops (2015-2016)
The project titled "Advancing culinary workshops" was designed by the Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum aiming to provide to its adult educators the chance to get trained in different cooking workshops around Europe, to gain and bring back to the organisation the new knowledge and expertise needed to organise successful cooking workshops in Cyprus. The proposal successfully gained an Erasmus+ KA1 funding.The main objectives of the project are for the participants to acquire new knowledge and develop new skills on managing successful culinary workshops and to provide the public with high quality activities that will help them sense the Cypriot gastronomic culture and also help the Museum's recognition in the local and European cultural scene.
