KALATHI
Kalathkia (baskets) were weaved vessels made of cane, straw or stubble with an arched/bridged loop handle at the upper part. Kalathkia were manufactured at several villages in Cyprus and varied in size depending on their intended use. Such vessels were usually utilised for the storage and transport of various crops and other agricultural produce, which are predominantly related to diet. The larger forms of baskets were known as kofines.
