The digital exhibition entitled “From Hearth to Plate” was prepared by the Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum within the frame of the project “Modern approaches to folk culture: Acquaintance with the traditional Cypriot kitchen of the recent past via digital mediums”. The project was carried out between June and December 2016 and was partly funded by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Funding programme “Folk Culture 2016”).

This digital exhibition would not have come to fruition without the support of The Bee and Embroidery Museum at Kato Drys, which was founded in 2008 by Iakovos and Elli Kornioti with the financial support of European funds. The museum’s collection now exceeds 1000 objects directly related to the folk culture of Cyprus and has been the main source of artefacts for the assemblage of this exhibition.
